Simone Christen
Far Hills , New Jersey
Originally from rural Switzerland, Simone Christen studied art at Lucerne School of Design and Basel School of Visual Arts. In 2020, she relocated to New Jersey, where she now resides with her family on a small horse farm. Christen has showcased her works in solo and group exhibitions across the USA, France, Spain, and Italy, attracting collectors worldwide.
Christen creates non-representational, experimental art within the realm of minimalism. Her intuitive artistic approach captures emotions and atmospheres, seeking balance and reduction without triviality. Employing liquid media on paper and raw canvas, she skillfully layers semitransparent organic shapes to achieve luminosity and depth. Each form becomes a protagonist, telling stories of individualism and relations to others and space – inviting the viewer to explore narratives of Me and You and Our interconnected existence in a shared world.
“My paintings are subtle reflections on life’s beauty and fundamental simplicity – an invitation to escape the daily hustle for a serene moment of calm, peace, and introspection.”
