Due to the custom nature of our product, Area sells to the trade only. Meaning, we work directly with designers, architects, installers, and others who are a part of the design/build industry. If you are not in the trade, you will need to work through a designer or installer to purchase an Area mural. Our product requires a professional wallcovering installer, this is a great avenue to pursue if there is no designer or architect on your project. We will need dimensions of the space to start the process.

Great question, yes, you may! The digital printing process allows Area quite the range of flexibility with our artist’s designs (and has been approved to do so by the artists). Let us know your vision! For color modifications, a Pantone color selection works best, but we can also work with common paint swatch books such as Benjamin Moore or Sherwin Williams.

Area has a variety of Type II commercial grade vinyl options, all of which are suitable for commercial spaces, high traffic areas, or bathroom installations. For our standard wallcoverings, there are three options that vary mainly in texture (Matte, Canvas or Grasscloth, all with Type II designation). We are thrilled to also offer a specialty Metallic substrate that is also Type II. Area tests each piece of art before launching it into the collection, and Metallic substrate consideration is part of that testing. Not every Area piece is offered on Metallic.
